Beating the Odds as a Career Woman

“It Isn’t Easy Wearing Pink,” A Woman’s Career Journey of Beating the Odds to Become A Leader in a Man’s World

(One-hour session)

Participants will follow the career journey of Catherine Linaweaver, retired Federal Warden and 2012 North American Association of Wardens and Superintendent’s “Warden of the Year,” as she tells her story of how a girl from a small town in Kansas, who was fired before her first day of work, never lost sight of her career goals to become a well-respected leader in a male-dominated work force. Utilizing her dynamic presentation skills and insightful humor, Cathy shares with her audience eleven leadership, “Lessons Learned,” she acquired during her incredible journey to seven federal duty stations over a span of 24 years.
